You Found Us!

Hi, I'm Sophie! I'm the author of Roman to the Rescue and I wanted to tell you a little more about myself. I found Roman in Ghana at a time when I was very lost in life. I was very afraid when I found him. The world seemed so big and scary and so did all the people in it. Finding Roman helped me find myself, a different way to live, and a love I never knew I had. In fact, loving Roman is my favorite thing I've ever done. I now have a deep love for animals, particularly animal rescue: I currently have 9 rescues with me now! I love every single thing about Roman, especially how ornery he was. That made me feel a little better about how ornery I was. When I wrote this book, I thought that maybe there was another little Sophie out there who's just bumbling her way through her life. And maybe she doesn't get to have a Roman. But she could borrow mine. And then maybe she'll cause a little less suffering for herself and for those around her. It could really happen you know. Anyway, if you ever read this simple book, I hope it gives you something you didn't have before. And I hope you let me know what that something is.

Hi, I'm Roman! You may know me from the book, but I wanted to tell you a little more about myself. I'm originally from Ghana, but I spent most of my life in the United States with my mom. I was very afraid when she found me. The world seemed so big and scary and so did all the people in it. I was so happy to be with her and never wanted to be away from her for a second. If you've met me in person there's a good chance I've nipped you! I'm sorry about that. I was just scared and only ever really trusted my mom. I love chasing squirrels, yodeling at everyone I meet, eating hamburgers from Kewpee, and running as fast as I can! I might not be on Earth anymore, but I'm with my mom every single day. I never leave her side, even now. I'm so glad she wrote a book about us and I really hope you like it! Maybe you can let me know your favorite part?
